Jonathan Power, Group CEO
Jonathan is our Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder. Prior to Avicenna he spent nearly 20 years in Finance and Operational roles mainly within the consumer and retail sectors.
David Gilder, Chief Commercial Officer
David is our Chief Commercial Officer and Cofounder of Juno Health, later to become Avicenna. David has over 30 years of experience in all commercial aspects of retail pharmacy specialising in acquisition, business development, regulatory affairs and property.David was the Commercial Manager for Lloyds Chemists PLC, in charge of business development prior to joining Sainsbury’s in 1997 where he oversaw the chain grow from a modest 7 pharmacies to 277.
Brij Valla, Sales and Purchasing Director
Brij is one of our Cofounders. He leads the Avicenna Buying Group and is our Sales and Purchasing Director. He is responsible for ensuring efficient and cost effective purchasing across both our retail and member pharmacies. He has a wealth of experience in the pharmacy sector where he started his career in Sainsbury’s Pharmacy as a Pre-reg Pharmacist in 2004. He enjoyed a successful 10-year career with various roles in purchasing, operations, training and regulatory. Prior to his current engagement he was the Head of Membership Services at Avicenna.
Rupen Sedani, Clinical Superintendent
Rupen, a co-founder is our Governance Director and Retail Clinical Superintendent Pharmacist. From his 25 years' experience of managing the clinical aspects of both community and hospital pharmacy, Rupen possesses extensive knowledge of professional, regulatory and clinical governance for the industry. Rupen also leads on Health and Safety, data governance and environmental matters for the company. Previously Rupen was Superintendent Pharmacist for Sainsburys Pharmacy.
Richard Smith, Group Chair
Richard is our Group Chair. He is also the Chair at Hakim Group and was previously at both Roderick's Dental and Affidea. Prior to that he was CEO at IDH and Managing Director of Lloyds pharmacy.
